This  is an INTRODUCTION course that Cole Holland College and the Institute of Human Anatomy offer participants engaged in or seeking a career in health care such as a Certified Nurse Assisting, Nursing, Nurse Practitioner, Respiratory, Physical, Speech or Occupational Therapy, Emergency Medical Services and Medical Assisting, a unique educational experience. This is a four-hour workshop offered at the Institute of Human Anatomy and begins at 6:00pm-10:pm.

This is Utah’s first and only private cadaver lab and Cole Holland College is the first college to offer this unique experience to students. The lab introduces students to the human body in its most vulnerable and dramatic form, allowing students to see, touch, and explore the various body systems and organs in a state-of-the art environment. The experience is remarkable and meaningful, allowing students to understand the human body in ways that are not possible in books or videos.

The IOHA facility provides hands-on dissection and study of human cadavers, giving students of many health and wellness educational and career pursuits an exceptional learning experience. Mark T. Nielsen, Education Adviser at the IOHA, is a well-known professor, lecturer, author, and software developer of human anatomy and physiology curriculum and in conjunction with instructors at Cole Holland College developed a robust and meaningful curriculum to facilitate knowledge of the human body – including an overview of all systems, and the digestive system and the brain.

Students of Cole Holland College and its affiliate schools: AAA CNA Training Centers and EMT Utah (EMS school in Orem), enjoy a discount on the workshop $99. However, the workshop is available to anyone who works in or is studying to work in health care or EMS. Participants have an interactive, hands-on opportunity to review, inspect, and learn how the body functions and operates in person with a cadaver! There are two courses available, both provide an overall examination of the body and then one centers on the GI system and the other on the brain.
