Mission Statement

Cole Holland Training Center’s mission is simple; to offer vocational programs in allied health care in a professional, diverse, respectful, and caring environment that will lead to gainful employment at the entry-level position. Our only measure of success is the success of our students in obtaining an education that leads to a rewarding career and a satisfying personal life.

Expanding Opportunity Through Vocational Training

Cole Holland Training Center offers programs in health care including Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician (Basic and Advanced), HealthCare Technician, Phlebotomy Technician and ECG Technician. Everything we do revolves around students; how to provide the training and information they need, how to respond quickly to changing market conditions, how to assist students in obtaining employment and finally, how to support, encourage and train students in all aspects of their professional lives that will lead to a satisfying and healthy life.

We encourage our students to obtain their education and training while volunteering in the community and engaging in Service Learning opportunities – this allows students to develop social and professional networks, encourages civic involvement, and promotes a positive self-regard.

About Cole Holland Training Center

Cole Holland Training Center is a work-in-progress. Since the day in September 2007 when owners Lyndal Cole and Terri Holland founded Cole Holland Training Center under the name of Wasatch CNA Center to offer a State of Utah approved 80-hour Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program, they have been innovating, creating, and growing.

The name change in 2010 to Cole Holland Training Center was accompanied by a move to a beautiful, large facility in West Valley City, a new website , and a slew of other courses offered including EMT, phlebotomy, Medical Assisting, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, EKG Technician and plans for more classes such as Surgical Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Paramedic  and more.

The new name, the move, and the new courses were spurred by a combination of several factors: our continuing growth, our student satisfaction, our desire to offer courses in the most rewarding environment possible, and our robust commitment to supporting students in pursuit of their professional and personal goals. We also shared a distaste for predatory practices that encourage students to incur more debt than they could reasonably repay, or to prepare them for work they couldn’t actually find.

We are excited about our future. The key relationships we have with health care employers and humanitarian organizations and our Service Learning Program which provides ‘real life experience’ for students at home and abroad ensures that our students are equipped to build the best possible future for themselves. Beyond the standard curriculum, we help students develop critical personal and professional life skills, empowering them to reach their highest potential.

Cole Holland uses a collaborative educational model, requiring students to participate in crafting their own learning environment. Training students for the workforce is but one of our aims; others include encouraging students to envision possibilities, to claim their own power in creating the life they want, to master the skills and information necessary to increase their quality of life, and to expand their options and opportunities.
